Stellate Ganglion Block

What is a Stellate Ganglion Block?

A Stellate Ganglion Block is performed to create a nerve block to the sympathetic nerves in the arms and face. This collection of nerves is found in the last vertebra of the neck and are part of the sympathetic nervous system. These nerves supply the arms and face.

Benefits of Stellate Ganglion Block

When this nerve block is performed properly, it takes only a few moments. However, the benefits will last much longer. This block is designed to reduce pain and swelling, improve mobility and help with a number of different treatments.

Some patients report immediate pain relief. For others, it will take time for the block to work, but they will be pain-free for weeks.
