I have never met a Doctor that was so caring and informative, GREAT bedside manner. I can not say enough about his staff, they were right on top of things and as well showing the empathy when I was in so much pain. They work very hard to make sure that you are comfortable and relaxed about the procedure. Joe

What is Arthritis?

While arthritis is very common, it is a medical condition often misunderstood. Arthritis is not a single disease. Rather, it is an informal way of referring to joint pain or joint disease. More than 50 million people have some type of arthritis.

Causes of Arthritis

Arthritis is the result of the breakdown of cartilage tissue in a joint. An infection or injury can quicken the natural breakdown. An autoimmune disorder can also cause a form of arthritis known as rheumatoid arthritis.

Symptoms of Arthritis

Arthritis is pain or disease in the joint. Common symptoms include swelling, pain and decreased range in motion of the joint. Symptoms may be absent and suddenly present. They may be mild or severe. They may stay the same for years and suddenly worsen. More importantly, arthritis can disrupt a person’s normal routines in life.
